We are a full-service animal hospital providing comprehensive pet healthcare services in Valrico, FL. Our veterinarians offer a wide variety of medical, surgical, and dental services. Our hospital has advanced equipment and technologies, including comprehensive in-house testing for accurate diagnosis, digital x-ray, surgical suites, dental suites, and a pharmacy. We are committed to providing quality care at every stage of your pet's life.   • David Thomassy, DVM

    Doctor

    Dr. David Thomassy is the co-owner of Valrico Animal Clinic, with his wife Dr. Lorie Thomassy. They are the parents of 3 children and have dedicated their lives to Veterinary Medicine. He is a 1997 graduate of the Auburn University, College of Veterinary Medicine, and received his Bachelor of Science in Zoology from Auburn University in 1993. Dr. Thomassy is skilled in providing complete medical and surgical care for dog, cats, and a wide variety of avian and exotic animals. He has special interests and skills in exotic animals and surgery (including orthopedic surgery, abdominal surgery, tumor removal, dentistry, and other non-traditional procedures). He is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, the Florida Veterinary Medical Association, the Association of Avian Veterinarians, and the Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians.

  • Lorie Thomassy, DVM

    Doctor

    Dr. Lorie Padgett-Thomassy is the co-owner of Valrico Animal Clinic, with her husband Dr. David Thomassy. She is a busy parent and mother of their 3 children. She is a 1992 graduate of the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine, and received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of South Florida. Dr. Lorie has a great love of animals and years of experience caring for dogs, cats, and exotics. She has special interest and expertise in Oncology, with experience working in the Oncology Department at Florida Veterinary Specialists (now Blue Pearl Veterinary Partners), our local referral hospital. She is currently not seeing patients, but stays involved in the daily operation of the practice.

  • Nicole Jimenez, DVM

    Doctor

    Dr. Jimenez is a 2014 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine. She joined our practice in June 2015 and has experience with dog, cat, avian, exotic and aquatic medicine. In her spare time, Dr. Jimenez enjoys reading, movies and trips to Universal Studios and Disney with her husband, Andrew.

  • Alexandra Allen, DVM

    Doctor

    We would like to welcome Dr Allen to our staff! She is a 2017 graduate from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and has relocated to our area from Chicago Illinois. She has experience with dogs and cats and is interested in expanding her knowledge with birds and exotics.

  • Dr. Francisco Gonzalez Ferran

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Gonzalez was born and raised in Bayamon, Puerto Rico where his passion for animals started at an early age. He strives to provide animals with exceptional care and promote animal welfare. This led him to the island of St. Kitts where he earned his DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and attended his clinical year at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2020. He has experience with both dogs and cats. His professional interests are small animal medicine and expanding his surgical skills. When not at work, Dr. Gonzalez enjoys spending time with his two corgis (Ella and Obie), his cat (Sansa) and his wife Dr. Rivera. He enjoys working out, boat days and spending quality time with friends and family.

  • Dr. Stephannie Rivera-Badillo

    Associate Veterinarian

    Dr. Rivera was born and raised in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico where her love for animals began at a very early age. Growing up pets were part of the family, this showed her the importance of the human-animal bond and where her great love for animals began. She graduated from the University of Puerto Rico in Bayamón with a bachelor’s degree in Biology. She then took her passion for animals to the island of St. Kitts where she earned her DVM degree from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and attended her clinical year at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2020. She has experience with both dogs and cats. Her professional interests are internal medicine, rehabilitation medicine and expanding her knowledge with exotics. Dr. Rivera also strives to obtain a rehabilitation certification to provide services such as acupuncture, water treadmill, laser therapy and others. When not at work, Dr. Rivera loves to spend time with her two corgis (Ella and Obie), her cat (Sansa) and her husband Dr. Gonzalez. She enjoys working out, boat days and spending days at the beach with family and friends.
